Sat 09/23/2017 Kensington 8K Kensington, MD (Kensington Town Hall) 8:30 a.m. The 24th Annual 8K Race is known for its community spirit and USATF-certified route, starting in historic Warner Circle, past Kensington Town Hall, and along Antique Row. After a flat, straight shot down Kensington Pkwy, you enter Rock Creek Park for a beautiful run on Beach Drive. But not too fast, as the infamous East Bex"hill" awaits, followed by a downhill sprint and return through Old Town. The day's events include a 2-Mile Challenge, and 1k Fun Run.

Braswell II 5K Run Against Teen Violence Spotsylvania, VA (Courtland High School) 8:30 a.m. The day's events include a 1-Milw Kids Fun Run at 8:00 a.m. The Baron “Deuce” P. Braswell Run Against Teen Violence has been created to bring awareness to the issue of teen violence and the effects of teen violence on the victim, the families involved, the perpetrator and the community as a whole. This run honors the memory of Baron “Deuce” P. Braswell who was murdered in 2006 by a senseless act of teen violence. This event is designed to unite families and the community to take a stand against teen violence in our area. Help us to educate our young while participating in an event that is both beneficial to health, heart and mind.

Sat 09/23/2017 Dulles Day 5K/10K On the Runway Dulles, VA 7:30 a.m. This is your opportunity for the flattest, fastest course in the area. The full length portion of the runway will be closed off for runners to experience a flat, fast course and a unique look at the airport grounds, something you do not get to do every day. Run past planes and along the actual landing strip on this certified looped course. All race proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Virginia, the Committee for Dulles Community Outreach, and the Washington Airports Task Force, all 501c3 nonprofit organizations closely affiliated with Dulles Airport. All runners must be able to complete the chosen course and be off the airstrip by 9:00 am, so that the runway can be reopened for aircraft traffic. Sign up early! There is a limit of 2,500 runners for this event and we expect it to sell out again this year.

Sat 09/23/2017 Jessica Meredith Jacobsen 5K Memorial Run Towson, MD (Immaculate Conception Church) 8:00 a.m. Jessica Meredith Jacobsen died tragically Sept. 14, 2007. Jessica, a graduate of Villanova University, was a group manager in the marketing and investment services department with T. Rowe Price where she managed a staff of 100 employees. Jessica was an avid runner and she enjoyed watching her sons play soccer, basketball and tennis. Jessica volunteered with her neighborhood association and with Immaculate Conception School. In the words of Past Grand Knight Glenn Thuman: "Through the example set by Jessica, we come together, as individuals, to make a difference in ourselves, our families and our community."

Sun 09/24/2017 Holy Child Tiger Trot 5K Run/Walk Potomac, MD (Connelly School of the Holy Child) 8:30 a.m. The Holy Child Tiger Trot is a fundraiser to support the health and wellness programs at Holy Child as well as the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department, the primary care provider of emergency medical services, river rescue serves, and heavy rescue in the region. All ages and abilities welcome.

Sun 09/24/2017 North Face Endurance Challenge Series' 10K Park City Mountain Resort, Park City, UT 84060 9:00 a...m The North Face Endurance Challenge Series' expansion into the “mountain” region of the United States at Park City Mountain Resort, is located 20 miles outside of Salt Lake City. This race course will not only start at the highest elevation within the North America series at 7,000 feet but it will also climb to the highest elevation of 10,000 feet. The North Face Endurance Challenge cruises along the Wasatch Back, part of the Wasatch Mountain Range in the resort destination of Park City. Athletes will navigate this world-renowned ski destination using a mix of double and single track trail, ski runs, mountain bike trails and various dirt access roads. Bring your lungs and legs and be prepared to be awestruck.
