Sat 05/04/2024 Six Pillars Century - 37, 56, & 100-Miles Cambridge, MD (Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh) 7:00 a.m. Virtual Options Available. We are BACK for our 17th year as the Six Pillars Century. We will be on the same great routes as last year, and can't wait to show you all that Dorchester County has to offer. We can't wait to celebrate with you at Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh when you are all done for the day! We'll have refreshments and more while you recover your legs! Cycle the scenic back roads of picturesque Blackwater Wildlife Refuge in Dorchester County, MD. Choice of three FLAT routes: 37 miles, the famous 56 – mile Eagleman course, or our beautiful 100 – mile century course that takes you through quaint townships along the Chesapeake Bay and back through serene woodlands. Begin your day at Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh complementary pastries and more along the shore of the scenic Choptank River, before heading out on 2 wheels. We would like all riders to leave by 9:00 a.m. There is an 8 hour cutoff, based on the 7:00 a.m. start time, for the course. Sat 05/04/2024 VAHS - Western Albemarle Crozet, VA (Western Albemarle High School) 10:00 a.m.; 2:15 p.m. (6 waves, 14 categories, by gender, grade level and Varsity) Virginia High School Mountain Bike Series (VAHS) is a USA Cycling-sanctioned interscholastic race series for elementary, middle, and high school students. Each event has separate Lower Elementary School (Grades 1 &2), Upper Elementary (Grades 3-5), Middle School A & B (Grades 6-8), Freshman, Sophomore, JV, and Varsity races for both girls and boys. Racers do NOT need to be on a school team to participate nor do racers need to have any race experience. VASH MTB Series is open to public school, independent school, and home school students. Founded in 2010, the VAHS MTB Series has been providing a professional and enjoyable interscholastic racing experience for competitors and spectators for over a decade. It his the nation’s largest USA Cycling Junior mountain bike series. For those new to racing, it is an ideal introduction to mountain bike racing. For experienced racers, the Varsity races provide some of the most competitive racing in the country. Western Albemarle Course: The course will start with climb on wide paved trail. It will then go into a wide grass section before dropping into singletrack. The course was built specifically for interscholastic mountain biking. It has flowing singletrack with ample passing sections in grass. While there are no long climbs, it is up and down the entire time, so your legs will feel like they have been climbing! Get ready for an exciting new venue at a public high school. Riders who raced previously do not need to register or pick anything up on race day. Riders MUST BRING RACE PLATE FROM previous races. There is no check-in. Riders simply need to be in staging area on-time. For new riders, registration is under the tent near the picnic area. Coaches should have signed USAC waivers ready to go for all NEW athletes on team. NEW racers will be issued chip timing number that will be used for the entire season. It is important that returning racers bring the same number to every race. Replacement numbers cost $25 each. NO Race Day Registration.

Sun 05/05/2024 Rails to River XC Mountain Bike Races - 7, 14, or 21 Miles Reston, VA (Lake Fairfax Park) 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m.; 2:00 p.m. (see below) The Rails to River XC Mountain Bike Race will return to Lake Fairfax in 2023! The R2R is a cross country mountain bike race with racers doing 1, 2, or 3 laps of the approximately 7 mile course. 1-lap: Base (~7 miles), 9:00 a.m.; 2-laps: Sport (~14 miles), 11:00 a.m.; and, Expert (~21 miles), 2:00 p.m. The elevation change is about 500 feet and there are no significant climbs, although there are numerous shorter ones. The race starts heading up the gravel road towards the cricket fields. There are a few fairly technical rock sections, but they are short and can easily be walked if needed. In each race, we’ll have the following classes: female 19-U, male 19-U, open female, open male, male masters (40+), female masters (40+), male masters (50+), female masters (50+), female singlespeed, male singlespeed, clydesdale (200lb+). We are separating each race into wave starts with groups of classes to help space out the field. All the trails at Lake Fairfax Park are primarily built and maintained by volunteers organized by the Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts (MORE). Sun 05/05/2024 Counties of Bath and Alleghany - Middle Mountain Momma Bike Races Millboro, VA (Douthat State Park, Discovery Center) 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (5 Waves, 32 Event Categories, age, experience, gender) Presented by RVA Racing. NO Race Day Registration. Part of the Commonwealth MTB Cup Series! All around great mountain bike race event for beginners, and all ages from 6th graders to Masters 55+. The event is located at the beautiful Douthat State Park, just outside of Clifton Forge, VA in the George Washington & Jefferson National Forest, outside of Millboro in Bath County. For the past 26 years Kyle Inman and BikeVA.com have put on Counties of Bath and Alleghany Middle Mountain Momma at the beautiful Douthat State Park just outside of Clifton Forge, Virginia. Douthat offers challenging Civilian Conservation Corps built singletrack unlike anything you've ever ridden! There are classes for the whole family including 41, 21, 11, and 5.5 mile races for all ages and skill levels! Fri 05/10/2024 Sentara Cap2Cap Presented by Dominion Energy Virginia Capital Trail, Richmond to Jamestown, VA 8:00 am to 4:00 p.m., each day - May 10 & 11 (Course Support Open Hours) Two day event - Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11, 2024 Virtual Option available, May 1 to May, 31. See website for details. 2-Day Challenge Option Available. Cap2Cap is the annual bike ride fundraiser event for the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation. The ride features four distances: Century (100 miles), Half (50 miles), Quarter (25 miles), a 7-mile Family Fun Ride, as well as a 2-Day, Virtual, and Shuttle option. Create or Join a Team. Cap2Cap will take place on the Virginia Capital Trail. The Trail is open to the public during Cap2Cap and all stop signs and traffic signals must be obeyed by Cap2Cap participants, just like all Trail users. All Virginia Laws as they apply to bicyclists must be followed. This is not a timed ride. Start and finish whenever and wherever you like to ride along the Virginia Capital Trail. Enjoy the Party Zones at Chickahominy Riverfront Park on Friday or at Dorey Park on Saturday. Riders will be supported by five Rest Stops over the 51.7 mile trail and will receive Cap2Cap merchandise, lunch, a beverage ticket, coupons, and more! The Sentara Cap2Cap presented by Dominion Energy will use an Open-Start format in 2024: you can start and finish anywhere on the Virginia Capital Trail! Course support (Rest Stops and SAG) will be active between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on the Trail on Cap2Cap weekend, Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11th. When planning your ride, consider the location and time of the Party Zone, which is the only place you will be able to redeem your lunch and drink ticket. Shuttles for Half Century Riders. We are thrilled to be partnering with RVA Paddlesports to offer shuttles only for the Half Century (50 mile) riders and their bicycles! The shuttle is available as an add-on in registration after you select the Half Century ride option and is $52. Shuttle departures and arrivals are out of the Billsburg Brewery in Williamsburg and the Stone Brewing Williamsburg Avenue parking lot in Richmond. You'll start your Cap2Cap with a shuttle ride to the other end of the Trail and then you'll ride your bike back to where you got on the shuttle. Shuttle schedule posted on event website. Sat 05/11/2024 Shenanduro - 6-Hour Endurance Mountain Biking Bentonville, VA (Downriver Canoe Company, Shenandoah River State Park) 9:00 a.m. Join us for this day of mountain biking, camaraderie, chilling with your teammates in the pop-up tent city, cooking out, maybe getting muddy, and definitely having a great time on some of the best trails in Virginia. It's fast and smooth and really, really fun out there at Shenandoah River State Park! Test your endurance by taking on the 6-hour mountain bike course, as a solo, or on a 2 or 3-person team. If you raced the Shenanduro the past, then you know what a good time it is! If you haven't, now's the time to join us for this day of endurance mountain biking and having a great time with your teammates on some of the best trails in Virginia. It's fast and smooth and really, really fun out there at Shenandoah River State Park! We'll be doing (really good) prizes (warning: this gets pretty competitive!) and music changes per crowd request every hour. We'll have the grill going with burgers and dogs. The river is handy if you need to cool off, and we'll have a firepit going when your legs need a break. It's a good time, y'all. Included: A great course through Shenandoah River State Park and along the South Fork of the Shenandoah River; Chip timing and real-time lap results; Great swag; Prizes for top three winners in each division; An awesome time in a beautiful place with family and friends. Mountain Bike: The single track at Shenandoah River State Park will have you smiling all day long. Each loop will be approximately 8 miles and will contain a mixture of two-track gravel and single-track trail. The team and soloist completing the most laps in 6 hours wins. A tie in lap count is determined by the fastest combined lap time including pit stop and transition times. Racers will be able to start a new lap 45 minutes before the race duration cutoff. Teams race in a relay format and pass off to the next teammate in the transition area. There is no limit to how many times a teammate can do a lap before they hand off to another teammate. Team participants can go in any order. We will have plenty of space for you to set up your pit stop area for rest, recovery, and camaraderie. Divisions: Solo Male & Female Open; Solo Male & Female 40+; Solo Male & Female 50+ 2 Person Male, Female, & Coed; 3 Person Male, Female, & Coed. While biking each racer must have: Mountain bike or cyclocross bike; Helmet (CPSC, ANSI, or SNELL certified). 2:15 pm: 6-hour last lap cut off. See website for complete event details.

Blue Ridge School Course: Blue Ridge School is a challenging course that includes sustained climbs, tight rocky terrain, and flow trails. It is the most technical course of the season. For most riders, it is a season favorite as the mixed terrain tests rider skills that have been developed during the season. The course begins on a long grass straightaway. It then goes into a challenging singletrack climb. There are numerous double-track sections for passing before a flow trail descent. Riders who raced previously do not need to register or pick anything up on race day. Riders MUST BRING RACE PLATE FROM previous races. There is no check-in.
