4th annual (race was known as the Front Royal Kiwanis Mushroom Festival 5K prior to this year). Weather at race time (9:00 AM): 70°, mostly sunny, breeze from the SW at 5-10 mph. Course: Loop on somewhat hilly but not steep roads in the vicinity of the middle school and the old Avtex plant; original out-and-back section through Randolph-
Macon Academy had to be changed at the last minute to an out-and-back on nearby roads because the RMA gate was closed; adjusted course was believed to be fairly close to a 5K.
