Ice and snow covered the bridges, but that didn't stop Mike Hart, 49, of Washington DC, from covering the course in 1:38:04.8.
Brian Tefft, 24, also of DC, had fought for the lead, but stopped to walk with 5K to go. "I thought 50 people passed me," said Tefft after the race. (Actually, only 37 passed him.)
Nichole Bukowski, 26, of Arlington, ran an even race, to win for the women 1:54:06.3. Karen Dickerson, 19, of Springfield, steadily moved up to take second in 1:59:00.2.
