Georgetown Half Marathon & 5K

Location: Washington, DC (Fletcher's Cove, C&O Canal Towpath)

Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
Description: Race proceeds supporting and mentoring girls' education and empowering new healthy lifestyles: Himalayan Children's Foundation in Nepal (see www.kaimont.com); and, Mercy Project in Kenya (see www.mercyproject.org). $10 discount for active duty military, DC Capital Striders, entrants in Potomac River Run Marathon / Half on October 28, 100 Half Marathons Club, 50 States Club, or 50 States + DC Club.
Course: Start and finish at Fletcher's Cove. Totally flat gravel trail, alongside scenic C&O Canal Towpath. The half marathon is out 6.55 miles to Towpath mile 9.65, and back.
Awards: Gift certificates from Georgetown Running Company for 1st, 2nd, 3rd M/F overall and in 10-year age groups 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.
