Event Beneficiary:
The Sallie Mae 10k is proud to announce that it will be benefitting the District of Columbia College Access Program (DC-CAP) for its third year!
DC-CAP is a non-profit organization funded by Washington area companies and foundations dedicated to encouraging and enabling District public high school students to enter and graduate from college. Currently, fewer than 55% of freshmen entering the District's public high schools earn a diploma, and only about one-third pursue any type of post secondary education.
By helping more District students gain a college education,DC-CAP will contribute to their future success and the region's prosperity.
All race proceeds will benefit teh programs of DC-CAP.

We would especially like to thank the National Park Service for use of the course.

The Sallie Mae Fund Intercollegiate Team Challenge
Take part in The Sallie Mae Fund Intercollegiate Team Challenge, which pits college and university teams (including alumni) against one another in a friendly competition to determine “who has the fastest feet on the street”. Show your school spirit by rounding up as many of your classmates as you can and run for your school. The Sallie Mae Fund will make a $1,000 donation to the winning school’s general scholarship fund (mixed team rules apply as mentioned in the team section).
Teams
Team awards will be given to the top all-male, all-female and mixed teams. Each team must consist of a minimum of four members. The top four times will be combined to determine the total team time. Total team times for mixed teams will be calculated by combining the top two (2) male and female times. Team members must register under the same group name.

Water stations, medical teams and emergency phones will be available. The following will not be allowed on the 10K race course: bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, dogs, headphones and unregistered runners.
