  • Michael Wardian ran 2:27:21 to set a pending world record for the fastest marathon ever run on a 200-meter indoor track, breaking the old record of 2:34:54, set by Joie Ray in Boston MA way back in 1928.

  • Andy Mason and Karsten Brown ran together for the first two hours, and Michael Tietz took fourth. Also starting were Matt Logan (about 10 miles), Brooke Curran (about 12 miles), and Jay Jacob Wind (19.5 miles).

  • USATF official Wayne Kreutzer served as chief timer, ably assisted by Dick Wardian, Jennifer Wardian, Ted Baca, and photographer Chris Rief. The cheering section included Rebecca Nathan, Vivienne Wardian, and young Pierce and Grant Wardian.
