Many races got cancelled this weekend but ten brave souls took on Mother Nature for the 7th annual Walnut Hill 5K in Gaithersburg, MD. Michaela Peterson, 15, took the early lead through the first 1000 meters but was caught by Luis Navarro, 37, who won in 20:02. Peterson ran 20:41. The temperature crested to 7 degrees and though the winds were light, the apparent temperature never made it to a positive number. The race benefited the 50 Plus Club.
