5) Death at Army 10 Miler
The race was held on Sunday, October 7, 2007 with 26,000 runners entered, and a record 17,000 finishing the 10 mile route. At the 8 a.m. start time, the temperature was 70 degrees F, and relative humidity of 94%, making conditions oppressive for running. Because of the heat, runners consumed more liquids than expected, and the aide stations ran out of water. Michael Banner, a 25-year old runner from Fairfax, Virginia collapsed near the finish line, and subsequently died. We are saddened by this loss.

4) 2004 Grand Prix Results Posted
The final results, reflecting all 12 races are in and posted at: http://www.racepacket.com/grand.html
Michael Wardian nipped Ted Poulos in the last race to tie for 2nd overall male. Molly McHarg used the last two races to pass Karen Young for 5th woman.
As you can see from the results, we have not yet identified winners in the following age groups:
men 29 & under women 29 & under
men 30-39 women 30-39
men 60+ women 40-49
It takes quite a bit of time to work our way down the list to see if each runner has completed at least 5 of the grand prix series races. So if you are in these age groups and have run 5 of the races, please drop us an email to make sure that we don't miss you.
We also welcome any corrections to the points awarded. The annual awards dinner has been tentatively scheduled for Sunday January 30, where we present $3,000 in cash prizes.
