2014 RacePacket Grand Prix Awards Lunch

RacePacket held its annual awards lunch on Jan. 18. The Grand Prix Series which started in 1997 features 12 races throughout the year. It allows runners to prove that they are the best in town and offers $3,000 in cash prizes. This year, the lunch also honored the winners of the Bishops Events series.

Overall Men

Last year's winner, Craig Chasse returned to top place again in 2014. Craig won four races: the Spring 5K in 18:32, the Losing to Live 5K, Summer Strides 5K and the Snowflake 5K. His 150 points earns him a check for $500.

Seventeen points behlnd Craig was Ted Poulos who has competed in the series since its inception. Ted ran a 19:47 at the Losing to Live 5K. His 133 points earns him a check for $200.00.

Kyle Grimsley in third place has inherited his Gran Prix racing talents from long time Grand Prix participant Gary Grimsley. Kyle ran a 19:57 at the Spring 5K. His 94 points earns him a check for $125.00.

Mike Cannon in fourth place and has placed in the overall Grand Prix for many years. Mike ran a 19:57 at the Spring 5K. His 91 points earns him a check for $100.00.

Bill Stahr despite an injury finished fifth place finished in 5th place last year as well. Bill ran a 22:15 at the Losing to Live 5K. His 76 points earns him a check for $75.00.

Overall Women

Karen Young, who was our overall female winner last year, returns to victory. Karen ran a 24:38 at the Snowflake 5K. Her 111 points earns her a check for $500.00.
