Start Time: 7:00 a.m. (7:20 a.m. for 5-Miler)

Description:


Four weeks before the Marine Corps Marathon, the perfect tune-up race or training run for fall marathon! An excellent first time trail race!!

Packet Pickup:

1. Thursday, Sept. 21, 6:30pm to 8:30pm, in conjunction with the DC Road Runners Club's September Happy Hour. Have a beer, share some finger food, and talk story with us. At Ireland's Four Courts 2051 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington VA 22201. See the event posting on our Facebook page for more info and (optionally) to RSVP.

2. Saturday, Sept. 23, 1:00pm to 4:00pm, also at Ireland's Four Courts.

3. Race Morning limited packet pickup (not registration and payment!) before the race at parking lot. Please choose this option only if you can't make it to either of the events at Ireland's Four Courts.

Start Time:

Sunday, Sept. 25, 2015, 7:00 a.m. Our permit may require a "wave start" to limit congestion on the towpath.
Time limit for completion: 5 hours (15:00 minute per mile pace).

Aid Stations:

We expect to have aid stations at approximately 2.5-mile intervals (Locks 10, Lock 6, Fletcher's Boathouse, Mile 10 turn around at Key Bridge).

Timing and Bib Numbers:

Numbers must be visible on front of garments at all times on course and as you cross finish line. The race will be chip timed using the Chronotrack chip timing system. All runners will be given a net and gun time. Top ten awards overall will be based on gun time.

Limited Field:

Enter early! By terms of our permit with the National Park Service, the size of the field (20-Miler and 5-Miler combined) is limited to 500 runners. All runners must remain in single file on the bike path and yield to pedestrians.

Awards: Over $1,100 in award money. 20-Miler: Gift certificates to top three men and women overall, and first male and female master. Ten-year age-group awards for top three men and women in each group (plus the under-19 group).
